Kia Sonet Facelift Interior Spotted

Based on the spy shots, it’s evident that the cabin of the Sonet facelift will remain largely unchanged. The images reveal a few changes including new buttons for the climate control and an all-digital instrument cluster. The climate control system no longer uses toggle switches for changing various settings. Instead it incorporates a small screen and push-type buttons for most controls. 

As for the new digital instrument cluster, it remains to be seen if it is a full-colour LCD display or a low-cost alternative like the one found in the Kia Carens and Hyundai Venue.

In terms of features, the Sonet facelift continues to pack a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. While it offers telematics, we expect Kia to also incorporate wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay this time around. Furthermore, Kia could also offer a 360-degree parking camera and advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS). Speaking of another perceptible changes, the Sonet facelift  offers a black interior with brown upholstery, hinting the spied model was a mid-spec Tech Line variant. The GT Line and X Line are likely to offer different interior upholstery choices.

2024 Kia Sonet Facelift Exterior Updates

The Sonet facelift is likely to continue with the tiger nose grille design, albeit with a new mesh pattern. Apart from that, the Sonet facelift is also likely to feature a revised bumper design. Other changes include a new set of alloy wheels and connected LED tail lights, which are similar to that of the Seltos facelift. 

2024 Kia Sonet Facelift Powertrain Options

On the powertrain front, the Sonet facelift is likely to carry the same set of engine and transmission options as the current model. Currently, the base variants of the Sonet offer a 1.2L normal petrol engine that produces 83PS of power at 6000rpm and 115Nm of torque at 4200rpm. 

The higher variants of the Sonet offer a 1.0L turbo petrol engine that offers 120PS of power at 6000rpm and 172Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 4000rpm. 

There’s also  a 1.5L turbo diesel engine option that produces 115PS of power at 4000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 2750rpm. 

While the base petrol engine comes with a 5-speed manual transmission, both the turbo petrol and turbo diesel engines offer auto-clutch manual transmission (ACMT) and automatic transmission options.

2024 Kia Sonet Facelift Launch Timeline

Given that Kia recently updated the Seltos facelift, it is clear that Kia have chosen the Seltos as their festive offering. Hence, we expect the Sonet facelift to hit showrooms in early 2024 and go up against other B2-segment SUVs, such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, new Tata Nexon 2023, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
