The Tata Curvv EV was spied at a charging station recently, revealing some of its features. The Tata Curvv EV will go on sale alongside the Curvv petrol and diesel. According to our source, Tata Motors will launch the Curvv EV alongside the Curvv petrol and diesel in July 2024.

Tata Curvv EV Spied – What’s New?

Like the electric and ICE versions of the Punch and Nexon SUVs, the Tata Curvv EV will share its design with the Curvv petrol and diesel. However, the Curvv EV will feature EV-specific design changes like an enclosed grille with a hidden charging port and aero-optimised alloy wheels.

The latest Curvv EV spy shots show the charging cable attached to the charging port which resides under the Tata logo on the front grille. Unlike the Tata Punch EV, which gets a spring release mechanism for the charging cover, the Curvv EV is expected to come with a motorised flap.

Other details visible in the latest spy shots include the full-width LED DRL, bumper-mounted split LED headlamps, and vertical slats on the lower half  of the bumper. The Curvv EV is also likely to feature auto-folding ORVMs and a sleek roof spoiler. At the rear, the Curvv EV is expected to look identical to the Curvv ICE, which was showcased in its pre-production form at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Global Expo.

Tata Curvv EV Expected Features

Various spy shots of the Tata Curvv ICE and EV have revealed some of the features of the upcoming coupe SUV. Unlike the Punch EV and Nexon EV, which gets a 2-spoke steering wheel, the Curvv EV is expected to come with a 4-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo borrowed from the larger Harrier SUV. The Curvv EV is expected to share a similar dashboard layout as the Nexon EV. We expect Tata to offer the Curvv with twin 12.3-inch screens for the driver’s display and infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlat and Android Auto.

The Tata Curvv EV is also expected to get ADAS with features like lane-keeping assist, collision avoidance assist, and blind spot detection system. We could also expect premium features like a wireless charger, electronic sunroof, as well as powered and ventilated front seats.

The Tata Curvv will also offer a feature that’s a first for Tata Motors – flush door handles. The pre-production version of the Curvv showcased at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo offered us our first glimpse of this feature, which we’ve seen in SUVs from a segment above, like the Mahindra XUV700. In terms of safety, expect the Curvv EV to offer 6 airbags as standard, while the mid and higher variants could get a 360-degree surround view monitor.

Tata Curvv EV Expected Powertrain Options

While Tata Motors are yet to reveal the powertrain specifications of the Curvv EV, we expect it to offer a larger battery pack than the Nexon EV, which is shipped with a 40.5kWh battery pack. Since the Curvv EV is set to take over the Nexon EV’s spot as Tata’s flagship electric vehicle, we expect it to offer a range of around 500km over the Nexon EV long range variants’ 465km per charge. When launched, the Tata Curvv EV will rival the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV as well as the all-electric iteration of the upcoming Citroen Basalt EV.
