Over the past few months, we have spotted Kia India testing the Carens facelift multiple times all over the country. Now, with its official reveal just around the corner, Kia India have revealed that the Carens facelift will be called the Kia Clavis. The 2025 Clavis will be sold alongside the current Carens MPV. Compared to the Carens, the new Clavis will offer more advanced safety features, such as ADAS, as well as premium features like a panoramic sunroof.

The Kia Clavis is not just a typical facelift but a significant upgrade over the current Carens. Kia aim to target buyers seeking a more premium and tech-heavy MPV experience. The Clavis is expected to showcase a bolder design language, with a more rugged, SUV-like stance. Teaser images and spy shots suggest key design changes, including:
- New tri-LED headlamps
- New LED DRLs
- New alloy wheels
- Redesigned front and rear fascia
- A more upright profile
The name “Clavis,” meaning “key” in Latin, hints at Kia’s intention to unlock a new level of premium features in the MPV segment.
2025 Kia Clavis – Features And Specifications
Kia is expected to load the Clavis with a host of advanced features, including:
- Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
- 360-degree surround-view camera
- Panoramic sunroof
- Updated dashboard and center console layout
- Dual 10.25-inch screens (instrument cluster & infotainment)
- Ventilated front seats
- Wireless phone charging with cooling
- Ambient lighting
- A premium audio system
Mechanically, the Kia Clavis is likely to retain the engine options of the current Carens:
- 1.5L normal petrol (115PS/144Nm)
- 1.5L turbo-petrol (160PS/253Nm)
- 1.5L diesel (116PS/250Nm)
These engines will be paired with the existing transmission choices: manual, auto-clutch manual transmission (ACMT), dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) and a torque converter (TC) automatic..
2025 Kia Clavis – Market Positioning And Expected Prices
The Kia Carens has been a successful model for Kia in India, achieving significant sales. By introducing the Clavis, Kia aims to expand its reach in the MPV segment. The Clavis will be positioned above the current Carens, targeting a more premium audience.
The Kia Clavis is expected to be priced higher than the current Kia Carens, which ranges from Rs 10.60 lakh to Rs 19.70 lakh (ex-showroom). With its enhanced design, advanced technology and premium features, the Clavis may attract buyers considering high-end MPVs or even mid-size SUVs.
