Mahindra XUV700 Facelift Exterior Updates

Having made its debut in 2021, the XUV700 is now due for its first significant update. The camouflaged test mule of the XUV700 facelift suggests the SUV will only offer minor updates on the outside. At the front, we expect the XUV700 facelift to offer a redesigned grille and bumper elements. While some test mules were seen with temporary circular headlights from the Thar Roxx,  the production version will feature sleeker headlamps with LED projector units and new LED daytime running light (DRL) signatures that are in line with Mahindra's current design philosophy.

The side and rear profiles appear largely unchanged in these spy shots, save for updated alloy wheel designs. The XUV700 facelift will retain its flush-type door handles and LED taillights.

Mahindra XUV700 Facelift Cabin To Offer Triple Screens

Inside the cabin, the most significant update spotted is a new triple-screen dashboard layout. The triple screen setup was first introduced in Mahindra’s XEV 9e. Featuring 3 large 12.3-inch displays dedicated to the infotainment system, the driver’s instrument cluster, and a separate screen specifically for the co-passenger’s entertainment. This will provide a massive leap in in-cabin technology for ICE cars and SUVs. The spy shots also suggest Mahindra will retain the dual-tone black and beige interior theme from the current model.

Current feature highlights of the XUV700 include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a large panoramic sunroof, a 6-way powered driver’s seat with a memory function, ventilated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a premium 12-speaker sound system. We expect the XUV700 facelift to offer an additional wireless charger as seen in the all-electric BE 6 and XEV 9e.

Expected Price And Market Rivals

The current Mahindra XUV700 is priced from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated SUV is expected to carry a slight price premium over these figures. Upon launch, it will continue to compete with 5- to 7-seater SUVs such as the Tata Harrier and Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and its own stablemate, the Mahindra Scorpio-N. It will also take on the upcoming Tata Sierra ICE, which too will offer a triple screen layout.
