2026 Mahindra Bolero Neo Spotted; Likely To Offer ADAS | V3Cars

Fresh spy shots have given us the clearest look yet at the next-generation Mahindra Bolero Neo. The upcoming SUV is expected to be revealed as a near-production concept on August 15, 2025, and it hints at a significant evolution for the iconic Bolero nameplate.

Mahindra Bolero Neo Spotted Again – Reveals New Details

While the long-serving standard Bolero SUV might soldier on, this new-gen model is expected to replace the Bolero Neo in Mahindra’s lineup by bringing a blend of modern features and a rugged design.

2026 Bolero Neo Facelift Exterior Design

The new spy shots highlight Mahindra’s approach to updating the Bolero Neo. It keeps the familiar boxy, upright shape that defines the Bolero brand, but introduces some key design changes to give it a fresh, modern feel.

Up front, the Bolero Neo test mule features a high-set grille with vertical slats. The Mahindra logo sits proudly at the centre of this grille. The SUV is expected to borrow the circular LED projector headlamps from the Thar Roxx. The clamshell bonnet gets a bulge at the centre, indicating the production version could feature a prominent central air intake. The squared-off bumper with wide-set indicators adds to its tough look.

While retaining the upright windows and clamshell bonnet (hood) from the original Bolero, the side profile looks cleaner and more sculpted. The rear has a short overhang and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, just like the current Bolero Neo. But Mahindra’s designers have updated it thoroughly, drawing comparisons with the Land Rover Defender. Flared wheel arches are also visible, hinting at a strong road presence.

2026 Bolero Neo Facelift Interior And Safety Features

Although the spy shots fail to capture the interior details of the Bolero Neo facelift, we can expect it to receive significant updates. Expect features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, steering-mounted controls, rear AC vents and USB charging ports, wireless charger, and a whole lot more modern features.

The spy shots suggest the new SUV will offer grab handles on the A- and B-pillars. They also hint at the presence of ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) features, potentially a Level 2 ADAS package similar to what’s offered in the XUV 3XO. This could include features like:

  • Forward collision warning.
  • Lane departure warning.
  • Lane keep assist.
  • Automatic emergency braking.
  • Traffic sign recognition.

These ADAS features are likely to be available in the top variants of the new-gen Bolero Neo. Additionally, the new Bolero is expected to have 6 airbags, a rearview camera, a speed alert system, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

2026 Mahindra Bolero Neo Platform And Powertrain

Various reports indicate the next-gen Bolero Neo could be one of the first models to be built on Mahindra's new monocoque platform, called New Flexible Architecture (NFA). This platform is set to be unveiled on the same August 15, 2025 event. A shift to a monocoque chassis would mean a more refined ride, better handling, and reduced cabin noise (NVH levels) compared to the current ladder-frame architecture used in the Bolero Neo.

The NFA platform is expected to support various powertrain options, including diesel, petrol, hybrid, and fully electric, suggesting that a Bolero Neo EV might also be launched around 2026.

The new Bolero Neo is expected to remain a sub-4 metre SUV, which helps Mahindra benefit from lower taxes (GST) for smaller cars in India. By potentially keeping both the new-gen Bolero and the older standard Bolero in the market, Mahindra could offer a modern urban/rural crossover while still catering to buyers who prefer the traditional, hardcore utilitarian version.

The new-gen Bolero Neo is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 14 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as a compelling and modern choice in the B2-SUV segment.
