2025 Tata Harrier Scores 5-Star Bharat NCAP Rating | V3Cars
The recently launched Tata Harrier EV has achieved a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Program), making the all-electric Tata SUV as one of the safest electric SUVs available in the market. The Harrier EV scored highly in both adult and child occupant protection tests. Take a look at the results and how they compare against the 2025 Harrier diesel below.

2025 Tata Harrier EV BNCAP Crash Test Results
In the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category, the Harrier EV received a perfect score of 32 out of 32 points. This includes a full 16 points in both the frontal offset deformable barrier test and the side movable deformable barrier test. The crash test results indicated “good” protection for the driver and front passenger across all impact scenarios, including frontal, side barrier, and the side pole tests. This makes the Harrier EV only the second SUV at Bharat NCAP to achieve a maximum AOP score after the 2025 Mahindra XEV 9e.
For Child Occupant Protection (COP), the Harrier EV performed well, securing 45 out of a total of 49 points. It achieved a perfect 24 out of 24 in the child occupant dynamic tests and a full 12 out of 12 for the i-Size seat installations for both 18-month-old and 3-year-old child dummies.
2025 Harrier EV Vs Harrier Diesel – Safety Comparison
Interestingly, the Harrier EV has slightly surpassed the Harrier diesel in the latest safety assessments. While the Tata Harrier diesel also holds a 5-star rating from Bharat NCAP, the Harrier EV has achieved a higher score in Adult Occupant Protection (32/32 for EV Vs 30.08/32 for ICE). In Child Occupant Protection, the Harrier EV scored 45/49, compared to the ICE version’s 44.54/49. This makes the Harrier EV Tata Motors’ 8th vehicle to secure a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP.
