2026 Mahindra XEV 9S Top 5 Highlights | V3Cars
Mahindra have launched the much-awaited 2026 XEV 9S in India. Available in 4 variants with 3 battery pack options, prices for the new XEV 9S range from Rs. 19.95 lakh to Rs. 29.45 lakh (ex-showroom).
In this article, we take a look at the top 5 highlights of the XEV 9S 2026.
1. 79kWh Battery Pack In Base Variant
Unlike the BE 6 and XEV 9e electric SUVs, Mahindra are offering buyers of the XEV 9S’s base Pack One Above variant the option of the larger 79kWh battery pack. The Pack One Above 79kWh variant of the XEV 9S costs Rs. 2 lakh more than the Pack One Above 59kWh variant. It offers a claimed range of 679km and an estimated real-world range of around 500km. Equipped with the larger 79kWh battery pack, the XEV 9S’s rear-mounted electric motor produces 286PS of power and 380Nm of torque.
2. New 70kWh Battery Pack Option
Mahindra are also offering a new battery pack option – 70kWh – for the XEV 9S. However, this battery pack is only available in the Pack Two Above variant, which is priced at Rs. 24.45 lakh (ex-showroom). The Pack Two Above variant equipped with the 70kWh battery pack produces 245PS of power, which is 14PS more than the 59kWh variant and 41PS less than the 79kWh variants. All variants produce 380Nm of torque regardless of the battery capacity. Mahindra claim the 70kWh battery pack gives the XEV 9S a claimed range of 600km and an estimated real-world range of 450km.

3. Panoramic Sunroof As Standard

Compared to the XEV 9e, which offers a fixed glass roof from the Pack Two variant onwards, the new XEV 9S offers an openable panoramic sunroof on all variants. This gives even the base variant of the XEV 9S a higher perceived value compared to the XEV 9e SUV coupe.
4. Sliding And Ventilated 2nd Row Seats

While the XEV 9e offers reclining 2nd row seats, the new XEV 9S takes things a step further with 2nd row seats that can slide across rails to liberate more legroom. It also offers a multi-step recline function to make longer journeys more comfortable. Additionally, the top Pack Three Above variant also offers 2nd row seat ventilation, which is a useful feature for chauffeur-driven owners of the new XEV 9S.
5. Triple 12.3-Inch Screens

Like the XEV 9e, the XEV 9S offers a triple-screen layout as standard. The triple-screen layout consists of three 12.3-inch screens that serve as the driver’s display, infotainment system as well as a front co-passenger entertainment screen. Additionally, the XEV 9S also offers the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) device mounting provision for rear seat passengers from the Pack Two Above variant onwards.
