2026 Mahindra XEV 9S Launched – Prices Start At Rs. 19.95 Lakh | V3Cars
Mahindra have launched the 2026 XEV 9S with prices ranging from Rs. 19.95 lakh to Rs. 29.45 lakh (ex-showroom). The new XEV 9S is essentially a 7-seater version of the XEV 9e, which was launched exactly a year ago. In this article, we take a look at the variant-wise prices and powertrain specifications of the 2026 XEV 9S.
2026 Mahindra XEV 9S Variant-Wise Prices
The XEV 9S is offered in 4 variants with 3 battery pack options. Here are their ex-showroom prices:

- The biggest highlight of the XEV 9S is the introduction of a new 70kWh battery pack option. The 59kWh and 79kWh battery packs are shared with the XEV 9e and BE 6.
- Unlike the XEV 9e, the 2026 XEV 9S’s base Pack One Above variant is available with the largest battery pack option. It is priced at a premium of Rs. 2 lakh over the corresponding variant equipped with the 50kWh battery pack.
- Only the Pack Two Above variant offers the new 70kWh battery pack. It is priced Rs. 1 lakh lower than the Pack Two Above variant equipped with the larger 79kWh battery pack.
- The top Pack Three and Pack Three Above variants are only available with the 79kWh battery pack.
The 2026 Mahindra XEV 9S has no direct rivals at the moment as it is the only 7-seater electric SUV in its segment. However, it can be considered as an alternative to electric SUVs like the Tata Harrier EV and electric MPVs such as the Kia Carens Clavis EV and BYD eMax7.
2026 Mahindra XEV 9S Powertrain Specifications
The new XEV 9S is available with a single-motor setup and 3 battery pack options. Here’s how they compare against each other:

- The base Pack One Above variant of the XEV 9S equipped with the 59kWh battery pack produces 231PS of power and 380Nm of torque. It offers a claimed range of 521km, so expect a real-world range of around 400km
- The Pack Two Above variant equipped with the 70kWh battery pack produces 245PS of power and 380Nm of torque. The claimed range for this battery pack is 600km. The real-world range is expected to be around 450km.
- All variants equipped with the larger 79kWh battery pack produce 286PS of power and 380Nm of torque. These variants offer a claimed range of 679km. The real-world range is expected to be around 500km.
- The claimed range figures for the variants equipped with the 59kWh and 79kWh battery packs are higher than the claimed range of the XEV 9e with the same options.
- Mahindra claim the the 2026 XEV 9S is capable of hitting the 0-100kmph mark in 7 seconds before hitting a top speed of 202kmph.
2026 Mahindra XEV 9S Design Highlights
While the silhouette of the XEV 9S looks identical to the XUV700, it features substantial changes to create an identity for itself. Up front, the XEV 9S wears the same front end as the XEV 9e, with top variants featuring a connected LED DRL setup.

Around the side, the XEV 9S offers the same muscular haunches and flush door handles as the XUV700. All variants ride on 18-inch wheels. However, only the top 2 variants get alloy wheels with aero inserts. The Pack One Above and Pack Two Above get 18-inch stylised wheel covers.
At the rear, the XEV 9S offers subtle changes over the XUV700 such as a black casing for the taillamps and a faux silver skid plate.

On the inside, the new XEV 9S offers the following standard features:
- 3x 12.3-inch screens
- Panoramic sunroof
- 2nd row sliding seats
Interestingly, the XEV 9S offers an openable sunroof unlike the XEV 9e, which gets a non-openable panoramic sunroof. The top variant gets:
- 6-way powered front seat
- Powered boss mode
- 2nd row ventilated seats
- Ambient lighting
- Air filter with AQI display
- Fold out tray behind front seats
- 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system

In terms of safety, the XEV 9S offers:
- Level-2 ADAS
- 6 airbags
- ABS with EBD
- AR head-up display
- Electronic parking brake (EPB)
- Electronic stability control (ESC)
- Auto hold
- Hill hold assist
- 360-degree camera
- Front and rear parking sensors
