The first images of the 3rd-gen Renault Duster spotted on test recently surfaced online. The next-gen Duster takes its design inspiration from the Dacia Bigster concept SUV.

The test car was spied with heavy camouflage. However, the design of the headlamps and tail lights seem to take inspiration from the Dacia Bigster concept. The 3rd-gen Duster could feature connected LED headlights and C-shaped LED tail lights. The Duster could also offer wide wheel arches with side cladding like the 1st-gen model.

The 3rd-gen Duster will sit on Renault’s CMF-B platform, which will be localised for the Indian market. The new CMF-B platform will underpin other Renault and Nissan vehicles as well, including a Nissan derivative of the Duster SUV. Reports suggest that Rebault could offer the Duster with both 5- and 7-seater configurations.

Furthermore, we expect the new Duster to come loaded with all the bells and whistles that we expect from a C-segment SUV. Hence, expect features such as a panoramic sunroof, a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 360-degree parking camera and electronically-adjustable driver seat.

In terms of powertrain, we expect the next-gen Duster to come with petrol engine options. Renault could continue with the same 1.5L normal petrol engine and 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine that were on offer with the old Duster. Additionally, since Renault have been testing the Arkana hybrid on Indian roads, they could also consider a strong hybrid powertrain for their future products.

The 3rd-gen Duster SUV could make its India debut in 2025. It will rival other C-segment SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Apart from the Duster, Renault also plan to launch another SUV based on the CMF-B platform and a small electric hatchback in India.
