In this April 2022 cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all C-segment sedans in India. We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales, where applicable.

C-Segment Sedans April 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change

Among the C-segment sedans, with the help of the 5th gen City, Honda have once again become the dominant player in this space
The City is the only C-segment sedan with a 4-figure sales in April 2022
YoY, sales of all C-segment sedans dropped considerably in April 2022
The Hyundai Verna suffered the biggest loss of almost 70% while the Vento’s and the Ciaz’ sales dropped 66.5% and 63%, respectively
The 4-gen and 5-gen City’s combined YoY sales dropped by only 26.5%
The Yaris and Rapid’s sales are down to zero as both of these car are no longer on sale

C-Segment Sedan April 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change

MoM, all C-segment sedans suffered a drop with the Ciaz suffering the biggest blow of 68.5% (this is after ignoring the E-Verito’s sales)
The Verna suffered the least; although a 50% drop is no small MoM change
