Audi Q5 Sportsback Unveiled; Rivals X4 & GLC Coupe
Audi has unveiled the Q5 Sportback. As the name suggests, the Sportback is essentially a coupe-SUV version of the Q5 SUV. It is the second SUV in Audi Sportback lineup after the Q3 Sportsback which debuted in 2019.
Talking about the design, as one would expect, the Q5 Sportsback looks identical to the standard facelifted Q5 until the B-pillar. Post that, it features a sloping roofline. The rear consists of a heavily raked tailgate with an integrated spoiler. It also gets updated tail lamps which are connected by a chrome element. On the inside, the interior layout remains unchanged.
On the tech front, the Q5 Sportback gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multifunctional steering, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD and front and rear parking sensors.
Globally, the Q5 Sportsback gets a 2.0-litre diesel engine making 204PS and 400Nm. It is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and a Quattro 4WD system. The Q5 Sportsback also gets a mild hybrid system that cuts off the engine while the SUV is coasting. Audi will also offer petrol engines on the Q5 Sportsback at a later stage.
The Q5 Sportsback rivals the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe and the BMW X4, both of which are already on sale in India. So, expect the Q5 Sportsback to make its way to the Indian market as well. That said, there is no official word on it yet. If launched, expect the prices of the Q5 Sportsback to range around Rs 65 lakh.
