At the MoU signing, Roland Bouchara, CEO and MD of Stellantis India, said, "This partnership with Kamarajar Port Ltd (KPL) fortifies the Stellantis group’s ‘India for the World’ philosophy that will leverage India’s distinctive manufacturing export potential. In 2019, we started exporting powertrains from our Hosur facility and with the commencement of the New C3 exports as a CBU this year we are marking a key milestone in our India journey. We have created a 360-degree ecosystem that is reaping strong results for the group and we will continue to grow this in the future."

Meanwhile, Citroen India are set to unveil an all-new, designed-in-India SUV on April 27, 2023. Like the C3, Citroen will export the upcoming SUV to various global markets. While the details of the upcoming SUV are scarce, we expect it to share its platform and powertrains with the C3.

In fact, the new SUV could be the 7-seater version of the C3 that was caught testing last month. If it is indeed a 7-seater version of the C3, it could be called the C3 Aircross. Citroen already offer an SUV called the C3 Aircross in Europe and the made-in-India model is unlikely to share anything in common with the Euro-spec C3 Aircross.

Citroen India are likely to reveal more details about their upcoming SUV closer to its global debut. The carmaker could also release a few teasers of the upcoming SUV, giving us a sneak peek of its design and bodystyle. We expect Citroen to open bookings for the new model after its reveal on April 27, while the launch could take place around this year’s festive season.
