In this February 2023 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all sedans in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all sedans for the last 6 months will give you an idea about their 6-month sales trend.
Sedans February 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change
- The Dzire maintained its top spot among sedan sales in February 2023, but reported a drop of 3.67% in YoY comparison
- It looks like even in the foreseeable future, the Dzire will remain the only sedan to achieve a 5-figure monthly sales figure
- Among the smaller sedans, the Xcent/Aura pair witnessed a 50% YoY gain, making the pair the top gainer
- The only other YoY gainer in the sedan category was Honda Amaze with a 21% growth
- Amongst the losers, Hyundai Verna was the top loser with a 95% YoY decline in sales numbers
- Amongst the other mass market losers in the category, Ciaz was the next top loser with a 58% decline in sales, followed by Slavia and City with around 31% YoY decline and Tigor with 25% drop in numbers in February 2023
- Volkswagen Vento was discontinued over the past year

Sedan February 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change
- Most sedans witnessed a decline in dispatch numbers in February 2023 comparison analysis
- Dzire was the top gainer in February MoM comparison, with a growth of 48% and it was followed by Xcent/Aura pair with 19% growth
- Virtus and Camry reported 13% MoM growth in February
- Talking about the MoM losers in February, Verna topped the chart with 95% decline, Amaze with a 26% decline was in second spot
- e-Verito reported zero dispatches for a consecutive third month
