American auto giant Ford has recently announced a vehicle recall in India. Ford India has voluntarily recalled 5,397 units of the very popular Ford EcoSport subcompact SUV model. The reason behind this recall is to inspect and fix some potentially faulty car components.
The company said in an official statement that Ford India is voluntarily inspecting 4,379 units of the EcoSport SUV, which were manufactured the company's Chennai facility between the time period of May 2017 and June 2017. The company statement added by saying that the reason of inspection of the vehicles, is the possibly faulty weld integrity of the front lower control arm of the vehicles.
The statement further explained that the weld strength on some of these units of the EcoSport could be below the Ford quality standards. This in rare cases can potentially affect steering control.
