Once the Elevate and Elevate EV SUVs go on sale, Honda have 3 more SUVs in the pipeline, all of which will go on sale by 2030 in a phased manner. While Honda haven’t revealed what segments these SUVs will compete in, we expect the carmaker to bring their global SUV offerings to our shores. These SUVs could include the new WR-V B2-segment SUV and the CR-V 3-row family SUV. We won’t be surprised if Honda consider the Elevate e:HEV — which is likely to be the strong hybrid powertrain option — as a different SUV offering to up the count of future launches.

More Focus On BEVs And FCEVs

Japanese carmakers like Toyota, Suzuki and Honda are slowly catching up to Indian players such as Tata and Mahindra in the electric vehicle segment. However, Honda are set to change that with an aggressive product strategy for global markets, including India. According to Honda, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and fuel-cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) will account for 100% of the carmaker’s sales by the year 2040. The same also applies for the Indian market and we expect the carmaker to start research and development on BEVs and FCEVs in the coming years with respect to the Indian market.
