Honda have taken the wraps off their first all-electric SUV for Europe — the E:Ny1. It gets a new EV architecture and claims to deliver Honda dynamics, responsiveness and premium ride comfort. Read on to know more details about the new Honda e:Ny1.

On the outside, the Honda e:Ny1 looks like an electrified HR-V Vezel. However, it gets several prominent changes on the exterior and interior to differentiate it from its ICE counterpart. To start with, the new e:Ny1 gets an enclosed front grille that incorporates the charging port for the batteries. Around the side, the e:Ny1 gets a seamless shoulderline accompanied by hidden rear door handles and multi-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, it offers a connected LED tail light design and the Honda branding spread across the tailgate.

On the inside, the e:Ny1 electric SUV comes with a revamped interior with large screens. At the centre of the dashboard is a vertically-stacked 15.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Honda claim that the e:Ny1 offers a spacious cabin with multiple storage compartments and wireless charging functionality. Other features include a digital instrument cluster, toggle switch for gear selection, multi-function steering wheel, ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof.

The Honda e:Ny1 sits on Honda’s newly-developed e:N Architecture F platform that features a front-mounted electric motor and a 68.8kWh battery pack. Its electric motor produces 204PS of power and 310Nm of torque and delivers a claimed range of 412km on a single charge. In terms of charging, the e:Ny1 can juice itself up from 10-80% in just 45 minutes with the help of a DC fast charger.

Honda are yet to reveal the launch timeline for the new e:Ny1 electric SUV. The carmaker revealed the new electric SUV alongside the new ZR-V and CR-V plug-in-hybrid SUVs for the European market. While Honda are yet to greenlight an electric vehicle for the Indian market, the carmaker revealed its intentions to launch an EV in India in the near future.
