Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) have announced a significant milestone: the Honda Elevate has crossed 1 lakh cumulative sales globally, with a substantial contribution from the Indian domestic market. Since its launch in September 2023, the Elevate has become a key player in the competitive Indian SUV segment, achieving 53,326 units sold domestically as of January 2025.

The Elevate’s success in India is evident in the strong consumer preferences revealed by Honda. A significant 53% of domestic sales come from the top-spec ZX variant, which features ADAS. Automatic transmissions are also favoured, with 79% of customers opting for the CVT variants available in V, VX, and ZX variants.
Interestingly, 22% of Elevate buyers are first-time car owners, indicating the SUV’s appeal to younger, aspirational consumers. Furthermore, over 43% of buyers purchased the Elevate as an additional car in their household.
In terms of colour choices, white is the most popular choice (35.1%), followed by brown (19.9%), grey (15.4%), and blue (15.3%). Collectively, Elevate customers in India have clocked over 32.6 crore kilometers.
In addition to its domestic success, the Honda Elevate has become a significant export model for HCIL. It is the first “Made in India” Honda model exported to Japan, and it has also been shipped to South Africa, Nepal, and Bhutan. The Elevate has helped the company grow its export business by 65% in FY23-24 and over 92% in the current financial year (April 2024 - January 2025).
The Honda Elevate offers a well-rounded feature set, including:
Safety features include up to 6 airbags, Honda LaneWatch camera, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and ADAS on higher variants.
