Hyundai Aura Gets 6 Airbags As Standard; Prices Revised | V3Cars

Hyundai recently announced that they are making 6 airbags standard across their entire range. This news brings the front side thorax and curtain airbags to all variants of the Aura hatchback. This feature addition also makes the Aura the most affordable sedan in India with 6 airbags. It’s worth noting that with the BS6 phase 2 update, the Aura had already become the most affordable sedan with 5x 3-point seatbelts. The only car cheaper than the Aura with 5x 3-point seatbelts and 6 airbags is also from Hyundai — Grand i10 Nios.

Hyundai Aura

Earlier, the Aura had 4 airbags as standard while the curtain airbags were only available with the top-spec SX (O) variant. Hyundai recently also made the Venue the most affordable car with ADAS technology. These moves establish Hyundai as a safety-conscious brand. Their decisions to add more and more safety features to their cars conveys a consistent message.

With the feature update, however, the Aura also got a price revision. The following table presents a full price list comparison of the old and new prices of the Aura:

Hyundai also announced they will eventually make ADAS features standard in all cars to prevent accidents altogether and improve road safety not just for passengers but all occupants. It’s unclear, though, if the Aura will remain in their portfolio by the time ADAS becomes standard in all Hyundai cars.
