India-Bound Citroen C3 Design Leaked Via Official Scale Model | V3Cars

Citroen has been working on a sub-4m SUV which has been spotted testing on several occasions both in India and abroad. While the official debut of the C3 SUV is expected to happen soon, the design of the SUV has leaked via images of its scale model. The C3 will be the brand’s first made-in-India offering and it is expected to go on sale later this year.

Citroen C3

The C3 looks unmistakably Citroen with its quirk design. Upfront, it features Citroen’s signature double chevron grille flanking by top-mounted LED DRL. Headlamps are placed further below in the bumper just below the LED DRLs. The front bumper also comprises of a large central air dam and a faux skid plate flanked by hexagonal fog lamp housing on either side.

Coming to the side, the C3 looks quite similar to the larger C5 with thick cladding in the lower half with an air pocket in the front door. The model featured a dual-tone finish suggesting that the C3 will get dual-tone colour options at least in the top-spec variant. Along with a contrasting roof and ORVMs, it also gets other colour-coded elements like orange fog lamp housing and the air pocket on the side.

Talking about the interior, while the new images do not reveal anything, the spy shots we saw earlier confirmed that the sub-4m SUV will get a floating touchscreen infotainment system. We will have to wait for the official debut to know more about the SUV’s interior. That said, since the new Citroen will be entering one of the most competitive segments i.e. the sub-4m SUV space, it should be loaded on the features front. Expect it to get features like LED headlamps, electric sunroof, connected car tech, auto AC, parking camera, alloy wheels, multiple airbags, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill launch assist and electronic stability program.

At the back, the design looks pretty simple with an upright tailgate, small windshield, 3D tail lamps and a huge dual-tone bumper with a faux skid plate.

Under the hood, the C3 will be offered with a petrol engine only. It is likely to get a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine mated to a 5-speed MT. Citroen might also introduce an automatic transmission option on the C3 SUV.

As mentioned above, the new C3 SUV is likely to go on sale in India by the end of this year. Prices are expected to start around Rs 6.5 lakh. It will take on the likes of the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Mahindra XUV300 and the Ford EcoSport.
