In this June 2023 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all sedans in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all sedans for the last 6 months will give you an idea about their 6-month sales trend.
Sedans June 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change
- The Dzire maintained its top spot among sedan sales in June 2023, but reported a drop of 26% in YoY comparison
- The Dzire was the only sedan to achieve a 5-figure monthly sales figure, but lost this achievement in June
- Among the sedans, the Verna witnessed a 135% YoY gain, making it the top gainer
- The other YoY gainers in the sedan category was the Toyota Camry with a 106.74% growth
- The Honda City was the top loser among high-volume cars in the category with a 57% YoY decline in sales numbers
- Among other mass market losers in the category, the Slavia and Tigor were the next top loser with around 41% and 32.37% decline in sales respectively
- Volkswagen Vento, Mahindra E-Verito, Skoda Superb and Skoda Octavia were discontinued over the past year

Sedan June 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change
- Most cars in the category saw a growth in the MoM comparison for June
- The only losers were Dzire, Slavia and City.
- Among the high-volume cars listed here, Dzire reported a decline of around 17.61%, whereas Slavia and City posted a drop of 3.4%
- Although Toyota Camry reported a growth of over 29.55% in June MoM comparison analysis, it should be noted that its dispatch was merely 184 in June and was just 142 in May
- Talking about the MoM gainers in June, Ciaz topped the chart with a 75.81% decline, followed by the Tigor with a 23.47% rise
