Kia have opened pre-bookings for the Carnival Limousine Hybrid and confirmed it will be offered in the Limousine Plus variant. The Carnival Hybrid gets a 1.6L turbo petrol hybrid powertrain with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Kia will announce its prices soon.

Update (Sep 11, 2026): We have updated this story with details of the Kia Carnival Hybrid’s pre-bookings, confirmed Limousine Plus variant and additional features.
Pre-bookings for the Carnival Limousine Hybrid are now open through Kia’s authorised dealer network.
Kia have also confirmed the Carnival Hybrid will be offered in the Limousine+ variant with the 1.6L turbo petrol hybrid powertrain and 6-speed automatic transmission.
Kia will reveal the prices of the hybrid MPV soon.
Apart from the equipment already offered with the Carnival turbo diesel Limousine Plus, Kia have confirmed a few new features for the Hybrid:
The Hybrid also gets a different set of 18-inch dual-tone aero alloy wheels. The current diesel Carnival also gets 18-inch alloys, although with a conventional diamond-cut design.
The Carnival Hybrid uses the same 1.6L turbo petrol hybrid setup as the Sorento. The petrol engine produces 180PS and 265Nm while the electric motor produces 73.4PS and 304Nm. Kia pair the hybrid powertrain with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The following table compares the Carnival Hybrid’s powertrain with the Sorento Hybrid:
*Kia have not revealed the Carnival Hybrid’s combined power and torque figures yet.
Kia claim the Carnival Hybrid’s battery pack will not compromise passenger or luggage space.
Kia also say the Carnival Hybrid is 1.78m tall, effectively the same as the current diesel Carnival’s 1775mm height. This suggests Kia have integrated the hybrid hardware without noticeably raising the MPV’s overall height.
The near-identical height, combined with Kia’s claim about retaining passenger and luggage space, suggests the hybrid system has been packaged without significantly affecting the Carnival’s core MPV usability.
The Carnival Hybrid gets 18-inch aero alloy wheels and active air flaps in the front air dam to improve aerodynamic efficiency.

The active air flaps can control the amount of air entering through the front of the MPV. They can stay closed when additional cooling isn't needed to reduce aerodynamic drag and open when the powertrain needs more cooling.
The Carnival Hybrid also gets a virtual engine sound for pedestrian awareness when driving in EV mode. Since the MPV can move using only its electric motor in certain conditions, the system generates an artificial sound to alert pedestrians when the petrol engine is switched off.
Kia have opened pre-bookings for the Carnival Hybrid but have not announced its prices yet.
The Carnival is currently available in a single Limousine Plus variant priced at Rs. 59.65 lakh (ex-showroom). It gets a 2.2L turbo diesel engine producing 193PS and 441Nm, paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The Hybrid will give the current Carnival its first petrol powertrain in India and an alternative to the diesel engine.
