Kia offers the Sonet in six variants: HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+ and GTX+. It can be had with three engine options to choose from including a 1.2-litre petrol (83PS/115Nm), a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine (120PS/172Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (100PS/240Nm). However, the GTX+ variant is available with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel engine only. Currently, the 1.0-litre engine is offered with a 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual transmission), the diesel engine gets a 6-speed manual transmission in the GTX+ variant.
In the GTX+ automatic variant, Kia will offer a 7-speed DCT with the petrol engine. The diesel engine, on the other hand, will be offered with a 6-speed torque converter typre automatic transmission. The same engine-transmission combinations are available in the HTK+ variant as well.
The GTX+ automatic variants will also get some additional features over the manual variants in the form of multiple driving modes and multiple traction modes. Both the features are transmission-specific and are already available on the HTK+ automatic variants as well.
Currently, prices of the Sonet range from Rs 6.71 lakh to Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) with both petrol and diesel versions of the GTX+ manual variant being priced at Rs 11.99 lakh.
