by Swati Sanchayi on Monday, Jan 14 2019

2019 BMW 7 Series is one of the much awaited launches by the German luxury automaker this year. Few days ago, a partial image revealing the front of the sedan surfaced on the internet and now, the upcoming 7 Series has got leaked on the internet revealing the exterior of the 2019 sedan. The revealed images show the 7 Series facelift in white – and in M760Li, 750Li M Sport and 750Li configurations.

According to the recently leaked images, the new 7 Series will be offered with BMW’s latest design language. The images show sleeker LED headlamps with more angular LED DRL inserts, a bigger, more prominent grille and a new front bumper. The images don’t reveal the interior of the sedan but the previously leaked images show that the cabin of the 2019 BMW 7 Series will offer minor changes on the inside, with the most notable one being a revised digital instrument cluster similar to that on the all- new X5 and 3 Series by the manufacturer. Also, the interior of the next- gen 7- Series sedan is more likely to receive additional features compared to the current one with more advanced driver aids.

The car has already been spied with camouflage at several occasions testing at different locations. According to the recently spied shots, the upcoming 7- Series gets the enormous chrome grille and stylishly sleek headlamps along with the large multi- spoke alloy wheels staying true to the 2014 Vision Future Luxury Concept. The new 7 Series’ grille too is upright and daunting and gets a chrome surround, looking at home on the gigantic X7. Not only these but the squared- off headlights fitted with BMW’s Laserlights, also add some aggression to the styling of the car.

Under the hood, the updated BMW 7- Series is expected to get the same powertrain options. However, the 740e hybrid available in international markets is expected to make way for a more powerful 745e. Currently, the automaker offers a 6.6- litre, twin- turbo, V12 petrol engine that pumps out 609 bhp of power and 800 Nm of torque. Mated to the engine is an 8- speed Steptronic automatic transmission that sends power to the road via BMW’s xDrive (all- wheel- drive) system in the Indian market. The manufacturer claims that the car can go to 100 kmph from naught in a mere 3.7 seconds. Other features of the automatic transmission are shift paddles on the steering wheel, launch control and auto start / stop.

In India, BMW added two new variants to the 7 Series lineup in May 2017- the M760Li xDrive and the M760Li xDrive V12 Excellence. Both the trims get larger air inlets, cerium grey colored frame and front surfaces of BMW’s iconic kidney grille, 20-inch M double-spoke 760 M alloy wheels, 19-inch M Sport braking system with blue calipers, M and V12 logos on the sides, cerium grey colored air breather and door handles, M Sport exhaust system and V12 marking on the door sills. Though, the standard M760Li xDrive lays its emphasis on being the sportier- looking version, the V12 Excellence variant exhibits a more luxurious character.

BMW will be bringing the 7- Series facelift by the mid of this year. The luxury vehicle is due for unveil sometime later. The existing BMW 7- Series was launched in 2015 and it’s high time the car gets an update. We can expect the BMW 7- Series facelift to make its way to the Indian market soon after the car gets launched internationally. The car will continue to take against the likes of the Mercedes- Maybach S 600 in the segment. Stay tuned to for further updates on the upcoming BMW 7- Series facelift in the Indian market.
