After the fuel economy figures of the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift got leaked online, now the variant details of the of Maruti’s flagship sedan have been released on the internet revealing the details about the variants and the color options of the car. According to the leaked information, the upcoming Ciaz will get a total of 11 variants- 7 petrol and 4 diesel trims and two engine options.
Under the hood, the petrol versions of the sedan will come powered by an all-new K15B 1.5-litre motor churning out 103 bhp of maximum power and 138 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the diesel variants will offer the same Fiat-sourced D13A 1.3-litre unit producing 89 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. Both the powertrains will be benefited with the SHVS mild hybrid technology and the conventional 5-speed manual gearbox is standard across the carline, while a 4-speed automatic transmission will be offered only on select petrol trims (Delta, Zeta and Alpha). Also, though the official fuel efficiancy figures of the new Maruti Ciaz 2018 facelift are yet to be revealed by the carmaker, the reports suggest that its petrol will deliver a fuel economy of 21.56 kmpl in manual transmission and 20.28 kmpl in automatic transmission mode making the sedan slightly more fuel efficient than the outgoing 1.4L petrol engine that returns 20.73 kmpl for the manual and 19.12 kmpl for the automatic.
In terms of highlights, the 2018 Ciaz facelift is expected to get new LED headlamps with LED DRL, new radiator grille and revised front bumper with lower air intake, new alloy wheels and new LED rear combination lamps. At the inside, the upcoming Ciaz gets a new instrument cluster and multi-info display with cruise control, a lighter shade for the faux wood trim, an updated infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as a new tachometer, electric sunroof and new upholstery for the seats and door pads as well as adjustable rear headrests. Apart from these, there will also be additional safety features on offer too such as ESP (electronic stability program), traction control and hill start assist. These will be standard across the range.
The carmaker will offer 7 metallic shades on the new Maruti Ciaz 2018 facelift, namely, Nexa Blue, Metallic Premium Silver, Pearl Midnight Black, Metallic Magma Gray, Pearl Metallic Dignity Brown, Pearl Sangria Red and Pear Snow White. The new Maruti Ciaz 2018 facelift is slated to launch on coming 20th August. Ahead of its launch, the official bookings have already been commenced and one can pre-book the sedan by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. There is no detail about the pricing of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Ciaz but it is likely to be priced between Rs 7 lakh – Rs 10 lakh ex-showroom, India. When launched, the updated sedan will continue to rival the likes of the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Toyota Yaris, Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Rapid.
