Tata Motors is all set to add a new top- spec to the Tiago lineup and the images of a production-spec Tiago has surfaced on the internet recently which is likely to be the new XZ+. The Tiago XZ+ is slated for the launch on 12th December 2018 and will get the new Etna Orange exterior shade, last seen on the Nexon AMT compact SUV launched earlier. Other than this, the Tiago XZ+ variant will also be offered in a Titanium Grey shade with a contrasting roof as well.
According to the leaked images, the upcoming Tata Tiago XZ+ will be offered with 15- inch alloy wheels from the Tigor petrol and the grille and projector headlights similar to the Tigor as well. Other features at the exterior include chrome accent on tail gate, electrically folding ORVM with welcome function, side body molding and dual tone roof. At the inside, the upcoming trim will offer a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Voice command access and incoming SMS notification. However, the automaker is expected to offer the Apple CarPlay at a later stage. It also gets fully automatic AC and digital control for the AC. For entertainment, there are 4 speakers and 4 tweeters. These infotainment features were also offered with the XZ variant earlier, but now XZ variant only gets 2 tweeters and XZ+ gets 4 tweeters. The infotainment screen also helps as park assist to the drivers. Apart from these, the Tiago XZ+ will continue to offer the standard features offered across the Tiago range. The car will measure the same 3746 mm in length, 1647 mm in width, and 1535 mm in height.
In terms of powertrain, the Tiago XZ+ will continue to offer the same set of engines – a 1.2-litre Revotron 3- cylinder petrol engine that churns out a maximum power of 84 bhp with a peak torque of 114 Nm. On the other hand, the 1.05- litre 3- cylinder Revotorq diesel unit that develops a max power of 69 bhp and a top torque of 140 Nm. For the transmission, the hatchback is offered with a 5- speed manual gearbox as standard across all variants. However, the Tiago is also offered with an AMT gearbox as option but initially the top- of- the- line XZ+ will offer manual gearbox only.
While the hatchback gets two new color options of Canyon Orange and Ocean Blue on the new top- spec trim, the single one color options on offer with new Tata Tiago XZ+ are Berry Red, Espresso Brown, Pearlescent White, Titanium Grey, Ocean Blue, and Canyon Orange. Dual tone color options on offer with all single tone options, except for Espresso Brown. Currently, the Tata Tiago is available in eight variants: XB, XE, XE (O), XM, XM (O), XT, XT (O) and XZ with prices ranging between Rs 3.04 lakh and go up to Rs 6.05 lakh (ex- showroom Delhi). The hatchback is expected to be priced around Rs 5.7 lakh (ex- showroom). The Tata Tiago rivals the likes of the Hyundai Santro, Maruti Suzuki Celerio and the WagonR.
