Mahindra Alturas G4 Gets A New 2WD High Variant — 4WD Discontinued | V3Cars

Mahindra have silently launched the Alturas G4 2WD High variant to replace the 4WD variant. It comes with all the bells and whistles of the now-discontinued 4WD variant. The Alturas G4 2WD High variant is priced at Rs. 30.68 lakh ex-showroom. The 2WD high variant is Rs. 1.20 lakh cheaper than the 4WD variant.

While Mahindra’s website continues to feature the 4WD variant on the homepage, the new brochure only shows the 2WD High variant. Take a loot at the features, specifications and rivals of the Mahindra Alturas G4 2WD High variant below:

The Alturas G4 2WD High variant offers the same list of features as the now-discontinued 4WD High variant. Hence, it gets 9 airbags, 360-degree parking camera, electric parking brake, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, front ventilated seats, electrically adjustable driver seat with memory, dual-zone climate control and an electric tailgate.

Mahindra Alturas G4 2WD High Specifications

The Alturas G4 2WD high variant comes with a 2.2L turbo diesel engine. It produces 180PS of power at 3800rpm and 420Nm of torque between 1600rpm and 2600rpm. The engine powers the rear wheels via a 7-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Mahindra Alturas G4 2WD High Rivals

The Mahindra Alturas G4 2WD High variant rivals the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and Skoda Kodiaq. The Mahindra SUV is considerably cheaper than its rivals. In fact, it is nearly Rs. 1.3 lakh cheaper than its closest rival, the MG Gloster, and over Rs 6.5 lakh more affordable the the Toyota Fortuner 2-wheel drive diesel automatic.

However, it is worth noting that the Fortuner, Kodiaq and Gloster have received some form of updates over the years, the Alturas G4 has remained largely unchanged since its launch in 2019. The only update it received came in the form of minor changes to make the Alturas G4 compliant with BS6 emission norms.
