Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus (9-Seater) Spotted Again On Public Roads | V3Cars

Images of a long wheelbase version of the Mahindra Bolero Neo surfaced again while Mahindra were testing it for future launch. This time, the pic shows the entire length of the car from the rear-third quarter angle. Besides the Bolero Neo, Mahindra are also working on a long wheelbase version of the Thar.

In a more recent sighting, the Bolero Neo Plus was spotted in daylight, giving a clearer view of the SUV's design. The Bolero Neo Plus retains the overall design and exterior features of the standard Bolero Neo, with a longer rear overhang being the most significant change, allowing for the extra seats and space. The side profile of the SUV is quite similar to the seven-seater version, with square wheel arches and a similar set of alloys. But upon closer inspection, the differences become apparent with the elongated rear quarter glass, larger taillight cluster, more curved tailgate, and revised rear bumper.

Will Mahindra Call It Bolero Neo Plus?

The images aren’t clear enough to confirm if the longer Bolero Neo will get the Plus moniker or or it’ll follow some other nomenclature to convey its longer length. If you have kept an eye on Mahindra’s portfolio for the last 5-7 years, then you would know that the Bolero Neo is actually the TUV300 facelift. Given the Bolero’s brand recall, Mahindra chose to give it some design details and the Bolero name. Back when it wore the TUV300 badge, the longer version was called the TUV300 Plus. So, a Bolero Neo Plus name seems a fair guess.

Besides the side-facing bench seats in the rear, Mahindra may also launch the Bolero Neo Plus with forward-facing 3rd row bench seats.

2023 Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus Powertrain Details

The TUV300 had the same 1.5L 3-cylinder diesel engine but the longer TUV300 Plus borrowed the larger 2.2L 4-cylinder diesel engine from the Scorpio. The larger engine is helpful for hauling 9 occupants and a heavy body-on-frame vehicle. This time around, it’s unclear if they will continue with the 2.2L engine or bring the more powerful 1.5L turbo diesel engine, which does duty in the Marazzo.
