Mahindra has updated its Bolero range of SUVs and has added new features to make it compliant with the safety regulations. The Bolero range now includes features like airbag, speed alert system, driver and co-driver seatbelt reminder, manual override for central locking and rear parking sensors. The new features have been added to all the versions of the Bolero, namely Bolero Power+, Bolero PLUS (9-seater) and Bolero Ambulance.
In addition, Mahindra claims to have received BS6 certification from ICAT (International Centre for Automotive Technology) for Bolero Power+. The carmaker has, however, not launched the BS6 version of the car yet.
The Bolero Power+ is equipped with a 1.5-litre diesel engine that makes 70PS of maximum power and 195Nm of peak torque. It’s the same engine that is also available on the TUV300, but in a different state of tune (100PS). What that means is, that Mahindra will continue to offer its 1.5-litre mHawk engine in the BS6 era as well. The 1.5-litre diesel engine on offer on the XUV300 is different than this one. Mahindra will certainly upgrade that engine as well to meet the BS6 emission norms.
