Mahindra's XUV400 Electric SUV Achieves Environmental Milestone (Press Release) | V3Cars

Mahindra & Mahindra's (M&M) first electric SUV, the XUV400, has reached a significant environmental milestone in its early stages. The e-SUV is produced in a 100% water-positive facility located in Nashik, Maharashtra, where only renewable energy is used. This milestone is a reflection of M&M's commitment to reducing their carbon footprint and achieving sustainable manufacturing.

The energy saved in the production of these vehicles can provide electricity to more than 1,000 homes for a year. The water-positive manufacturing setup saves more than 20,000 kilolitres of water, enough to provide water for 100 homes in a year. This accomplishment highlights M&M's efforts towards sustainability and environmental protection.

In addition to the XUV400, M&M are also making progress in other areas of sustainability. The company is the first Indian 'automobile & components' firm to remain a part of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the second consecutive year in 2022. It is also the first Indian organisation to sign EP100 and adopt a carbon pricing model. Recently, Mahindra Ag North America's (MAgNA) Houston facilities switched to 100% renewable energy, further reinforcing the company's commitment to sustainability.
