Maruti Suzuki Launching New Celerio Tomorrow | V3Cars

Maruti Suzuki Celerio will go on sale tomorrow. Bookings for the new car are open for a token amount of Rs. 11,000. The new Celerio is likely to cost between Rs. 5.0 and 6.5 lakh.

New Celerio

According to a recent leak, the Celerio will come in 4 variants:

  • LXI Manual

  • VXI Manual

  • ZXI Manual

  • ZXI Plus Manual

  • VXI AMT Automatic

  • ZXI AMT Automatic

  • ZXI Plus AMT Automatic

All but the base variant will also have the option of AMT automatic transmission. The leak also suggests that the Celerio will become the first car in Maruti’s portfolio to offer the integrated starter generator and mild-hybrid tech with the smaller 1.0L petrol engine. Currently, only a few cars with 1.2L and 1.5L petrol engines get this technology.

This technology is likely to give the next-generation Celerio a phenomenal fuel efficiency figure. Maruti Suzuki are claiming that the Celerio will have the best mileage figure ever for a mass-market petrol car. We may see a figure as high as 26 or even 27kmpl considering the smaller size and lighter kerb weight of the small hatchback.

The rumour also states that the next-gen Celerio will come in 6 colour options:

  • White

  • Silver

  • Grey

  • Red

  • Blue

  • Brown

The design of the Celerio seems to have got a big change over the outgoing model. The new model gets a rounded and curvy design with new headlamps and taillamps. The higher variants of the new Maruti Celerio will come with the following notable features:

  • ORVM with turn indicators

  • Touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple Carplay

  • Keyless entry

  • Push-button start/stop

  • Black alloy wheels (most likely with 15-inch wheels - same size as Ignis)

  • Halogen reflector headlamps

  • Flap type door handles (older Celerio had grab type handles)

  • Engine auto-start/stop

  • Manual day/night inside mirror

  • Manual AC

  • Steering-mounted controls

The new Celerio will go up against the Tata Tiago, Hyundai Santro and Maruti Suzuki WagonR.
