Maruti Suzuki have confirmed a new launch on June 30th. As the 2022 Brezza has already started reaching dealerships, we are expecting to see the Brezza on the stage on June 30th. A few Maruti Arena dealerships are also accepting unofficial bookings for the new Brezza.

The 2022 Brezza will get a new design and features with the generation change. Up front, the upcoming new Brezza gets a flatter nose with a thicker X-shaped chrome grille. The LED headlamp cluster now gets twin L-shaped DRLs and a twin projector setup. The 2022 Brezza will get dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels and thicker wheel-arch cladding. Around the back, the 2022 Brezza gets sleeker, with split LED taillights this time around. The taillight design looks a bit similar to that of the Nissan Pathfinder.

The 2022 Brezza will retain the 1.5L petrol engine, but for the 2022 update, Maruti Suzuki may introduce the hybrid powertrain with manual as well as automatic transmissions. In the outgoing model, only the automatic transmission had the hybrid powertrain. The new Brezza could get the engine in the same tune as the new Ertiga and XL6. In the 2 Maruti MPVs, the 1.5L hybrid engine makes 103PS of power at 6000rpm and 137Nm of torque at 4400rpm.
The other major mechanical update we can expect for the new-gen Brezza is the introduction of the new 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The older model had a 4-speed torque converter automatic. Meanwhile, the 5-speed transmission will continue as is. Just like the Ertiga and XL6 twins, we can expect the new Brezza to also offer class-leading mileage figures.

The 2022 Maruti Brezza will compete with other sub-4m SUVs like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite and Reanult Kiger. A couple of weeks after the launch of the 2022 Brezza, we expect Toyota India to launch the updated Urban Cruiser, based on the new Brezza. The new Maruti Suzuki Brezza could cost between Rs. 8.0 lakh and Rs. 12.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
