The Maruti Suzuki Jimny has been the talk of the town for a couple of years now. While Maruti Suzuki firmly decided not to launch the Jimny 3-door in India, the carmaker confirmed it will offer a more practical, 5-door version of the SUV. In this article, we share our price guesstimate for the upcoming Jimny 5-door.

2023 Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door Expected Prices

As per our sources, Maruti Suzuki will offer the Jimny 5-door in 2 variants — Zeta and Alpha. We expect Maruti Suzuki to price the Jimny 5-door from Rs. 12.50 lakh onwards. This way, it will be able to undercut the Thar 3-door by a considerable margin. The prices of the Mahindra Thar starts from Rs. 13.59 lakh and goes to Rs. 15.74 lakh for the LX petrol automatic. While the Jimny 5-door Zeta is likely to undercut the Thar AX by around Rs. 1.09 lakh, the gap between the top variants of both the SUVs stands at around Rs. 25,000.

The Jimny is likely to come with a 1.5L normal petrol engine that’s seen in the Jimny 3-door, Brezza and a slew of other Maruti Suzuki offerings. In the Jimny 3-door, this engine churns out 102PS of power and 130Nm of torque. The figures sound meek in front of the Thar with its 2.0L turbo petrol engine, producing 150PS of power and 300Nm of torque. We expect the Jimny 5-door to offer the new 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission over the Jimny 3-door that continues to come with the older 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission in l global markets.

2023 Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door Launch Timeline And Rivals

Maruti Suzuki are likely to showcase the Jimny 5-door at the 2023 Auto Expo whereas its launch could take place soon after the show. The Jimny 5-door will face stiff competition from the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door and Force Gurkha 5-door.
