Maruti Suzuki has launched the limited edition of the Ertiga MPV in the country priced at Rs 7.80 lakh and Rs 9.71 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), for petrol and diesel variants respectively. The Limited Edition Ertiga comes based on the V trim and comes around Rs 14,000 premium over the regular V trim of the MPV. To make the limited edition MPV stand out from the regular Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki has applied some noticeable changes on the outside as well as inside and has been offered in three exclusive color schemes such as Exquisite Maroon, Superior White and Silky Grey.
Mechanically, the newly launched limited edition Ertiga continues to come powered by the same 1.4-litre petrol motor producing 94 bhp and 130 Nm and 1.3-litre SHVS diesel engine churning out 89 bhp and 200 Nm. Though both the engines come mated to five-speed manual transmission as standard, the petrol engine also gets four-speed automatic in higher variants as an option.
Talking about the cosmetic updates, the Ertiga with limited units gets shiny chrome finish at fog lamp bezel, chrome side molding, stylish alloy wheels, rear spoiler and distinctive ‘Limited Edition’ badge at the exterior. At the inside the MPV gets all-new dark seat covers with contrasting white borders, faux wood trims at centre console and dual-tone steering wheel along with a front armrest and ambient lighting.
Maruti Suzuki has been preparing to launch the facelifted Ertiga around the festive season in the country most probably around Diwali this year hence the launch of the limited edition Ertiga MPV could be an attempt to boost the customer interest for the upcoming MPV. However, the Indo-Japanese automaker has already launched the facelifted Eritga in the Indonesian market last month in April. However, the automaker has been selling around 5,000 units of the Ertiga MPV every month giving a strong sales fight to the Toyota Innova Crysta. Also, based on a new platform, the 2019 Ertiga has already been spied testing in the country a number of times and has already made the speculations clear about being bigger and better than the outgoing model.
