Maruti Suzuki S-Presso Spied; Rear Design Revealed

by Jagdev Kalsi on Monday, Sep 09 2019

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso has been spied, this time from the rear. The S-Presso’s tall stance is accentuated at the rear to thanks to the chunky black bumper. Bookings for the S-Presso are not opened yet and it is expected to launch by the end of September.

Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming small car -- S-Presso -- has been spied again in two variants and exterior colour options. The tall hatchback will be positioned between the Alto K10 and WagonR in Maruti Suzuki’s portfolio and will be sold alongside both these cars from Arena. It is the first time that the S-Presso’s rear end has been photographed.

The S-Presso’s rear features a thick black bumper that holds the licence plate. The tail lamps differ in design compared to the Future-S, the concept car on which the S-Presso is based. S-Presso has been spied in three exterior colour options until now -- orange, blue and white. The white car in the image is a lower variant featuring black door handles. All the cars that have been spied until now do not feature alloy wheels.

The S-Presso is expected to be powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine, which will likely be shared with the WagonR. It is expected that the engine will be available with both manual transmission and AMT option. While Maruti Suzuki is not expected to offer CNG on the S-Presso from day one, the carmaker is likely to introduce the fuel option in the future.

As far as the price is concerned, we expect the S-Presso to be priced in the Rs 3.7 lakh to Rs 5.4 lakh bracket. Bookings for the S-Presso have not opened yet, and it is expected to launch by the end of September. The S-Presso will rival the Renault Kwid in India.
