Maruti Suzuki has released official sketch of the upcoming Ertiga-based MPV XL6. It is also the first occasion when the carmaker has confirmed that the MPV will be called XL6 and that it would be sold under the company’s Nexa dealership channel.
MARUTI SUZUKI XL6 OFFICIAL SKETCH
The XL6 will be based on the Ertiga, but will get a redesigned front end. It would also get plastic cladding all around that can be seen in the sketches as well. Both the front and rear bumpers of the XL6 will be different compared to that of the Ertiga. XL6 will get the same alloy wheels as the Ertiga, but in black colour and not grey. The official sketch of the XL6 also reveals that the MPV would get roof rails, which are not on offer on the Ertiga.
MARUTI SUZUKI ERTIGA
On the inside, the biggest change that is expected is captain seats in the middle instead of bench in the Ertiga. The XL6 will feature black interior while the Ertiga gets black-beige dual-tone interior combination.
The XL6 will most likely be available with just the 1.5-litre petrol engine from Ertiga. We don’t expect it to get a diesel engine option. Expect the engine to come paired with both manual and automatic transmission options.
XL6 is likely to get more features compared to Ertiga, as a result, we expect it to be priced at a premium over the Arena MPV. It remains to be seen what additional equipment does it get and how much does Maruti charge for that finally. The XL6 will be launched on 21 August 2019.
