The Victoris SUV has the same powertrain options as the Maruti Grand Vitara but with a few extras and a few shortcomings. For instance, the Victoris CNG gets a larger boot space with its CNG cylinder under the body. On the other hand, the Victoris is the first Maruti car to not offer a spare tyre in any variant.
On the feature front, the Victoris is the first Maruti car to get ADAS features.
Against our expectation of Rs. 10.0 lakh to Rs. 19.0 lakh (ex-showroom), Maruti’s final pricing is Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1.0 lakh higher, leaving us at least 5% off our expected prices.
We expected Maruti to ask for Rs. 1.40 lakh for the torque converter automatic while they are asking for an obscenely high Rs. 1.56 lakh. The asking price for the CNG with a usable boot space is somewhat reasonable compared to the industry standards. The hybrid petrol costs about Rs. 2.67 lakh to Rs. 3.02 lakh over the normal petrol-automatic. We can’t consider the top variant’s price for estimating the hybrid’s premium as the petrol-automatic also gets ADAS features. These are not available with the hybrid top variant.
