In this May 2022 Toyota cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the car sales of Toyota for the previous month. We’ll also compare the YoY and MoM change to find out which Toyota cars sales are improving and which ones are declining. Lastly, the table with monthly sales for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend of all Toyota cars.
May 2022 - Toyota Car Sales Figures - YoY Change
- Toyota saw YoY growth across the board with the Innova and Fortuner posting phenomenal YoY improvement
- 13,000% plus growth number for Innova looks impossible on any table but baseline was 20 units in COVID-19 struck times of May 2021 which grew to over 2,700 units in May 2022
- Fortuner is another star in Toyota’s arsenal which rose from 15 units in May 2021 to over 1,180 units in May of 2022
- Vellfire is not a mass-market car from Toyota, which is why even 44 units sold in May 2022 from just ONE unit in May 2021 reflects a growth of 4300%
- Glanza and Innova’s numbers are in the high 2,000s and comparable with each other

- Fortuner and Innova appear to be the biggest losers yet again in the month of May as they were in April witnessing a 41% and 57% MoM drop in production in May 2022
- The Hilux, which had an increased production of 616% in April 2022 is down 79% in May 2022
- Infact, the only gainer in Toyota’s portfolio is Glanza, owing to the recent new-gen model launch; rest of the lineup reported an MoM decline in May
