In this May 2023 Tata car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the car sales of Tata Motors for the last month. We’ll also compare the YoY and MoM change to find out which Tata cars’ sales improved and which ones declined. Lastly, the table with monthly sales for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend of all Tata cars.
May 2023 - Tata Car Sales Figures - YoY Change
- Over half the cars in Tata’s portfolio reported a decline in sales numbers in May of 2023 compared to that of May of 2022.
- Speaking of losers, Tigor topped the chart with a 32.05% decline in YoY comparison analysis for May 2023. It was followed by Safari D1-SUV with a 21% drop in sales numbers.
- The other losers were the Harrier and Nexon, which reported a decline of 15.57% and 1.31%, respectively.
- The Tiago was the top gainer, with about 78.32% YoY growth, which was followed by the Altroz with a 10.32% growth and Punch with an 8.62% YoY rise.
- The Nexon is the big volume car in Tata Motors’ portfolio, and now the Punch is following closely in second spot.
- The Nexon and Punch are the only 2 cars in Tata’s portfolio with a 5-figure monthly sales figure.

May 2023 - Tata Car Sales Figures - MoM Change
- In terms of MoM change, Tata Altroz and Punch were the only cars which reported a growth. The Altroz reported an impressive growth of 16.36% whereas Punch reported a growth of 1.74% only.
- The rest reported a decline in MoM comparison, with Harrier as the top loser with 17.25% drop in numbers.
- The other cars and their MoM drops are:
- Tigor (14.36%)
- Safari (12.47%)
- Nexon (3.86%)
- Tiago (3.75%)
