MG Motor have announced the full prices of the Comet EV. Bookings for the electric city runabout will open on May 15. The introductory prices are valid for the first 5,000 customers only. Read on to know the full prices of the 2023 MG Comet EV.

MG will offer the Comet EV in a total of 3 variants – Pace, Play and Plush. The prices start from Rs. 7.98 lakh and go up to Rs. 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom). It is worth mentioning that these are introductory prices for the first 5,000 customers. While bookings for the Comet EV will commence on May 15, deliveries will take place in a phased manner from May 22.

MG Comet EV Powertrain Details

The Comet EV comes with a 17.3kWh battery pack that powers a rear-mounted electric motor. The electric motor produces 42PS of power and 110Nm of torque. The Comet EV offers a claimed range of 230km on a single charge. In terms of charging, the Comet EV can juice up its batteries from 0-100% in 7 hours via a 3.3kW AC charger. The Comet EV does not support fast charging.

MG Comet EV Warranty, Service And Buyback Plan Details

MG Motor India offer 3-3-3 package with the Comet EV. This package includes 3-year/unlimited km warranty, 3 labour free services and 3-year road-side assistance. Furthermore, MG offer 8-year/1.2 lakh km warranty for the battery and motor, whichever comes first. MG Motor India also offer a buyback plan that promises to return 60% of the ex-showroom cost of the Comet EV within 3 years of purchase. Lastly, MG also offer service and maintenance packages starting from Rs. 5,000. 

MG Comet EV Rivals

Thanks to its compact and unique bodystyle, the Comet EV doesn’t have any direct rivals in the market. However, if we take its prices into consideration, it goes up against the likes of the Tata Tiago EV and Tigor EV. The prices of the Tata Tiago EV start from Rs. 8.69 lakh and go up to Rs. 12.04 lakh ex-showroom. The prices of the Tata Tigor EV start from Rs. 12.49 lakh and go up to Rs. 13.75 lakh ex-showroom.
