Scoop: MG Commute Taxi Features — What’s Missing Compared To Windsor Excite Base Model | V3Cars
We have recently learned more information about the upcoming MG Commute (MG’s Windsor-based electric taxi). Now, we have more concrete information about the features of the MG Windsor Commute EV.
For the Rs. 60,000 or so lower price compared to the Windsor EV base model, the Commute EV is missing out on the following features which are available in the MG Windsor base variant:
- Black steel wheels with wheel covers
- Connected rear LED light bar
While we can’t confirm this at the moment, most likely, the Commute will also miss out on the connected front LED light bar, touchscreen, speakers and steering-mounted music controls. MG may move some of the touchscreen controls to the instrument cluster just like they have done for the Comet base variant. The MG Comet also doesn’t get a touchscreen but has a Bluetooth, USB and FM. Besides infotainment settings and options, the Comet’s instrument cluster also shows the information about AC settings such as fan speed, temperature and air flow direction.
The Commute will borrow the following features from the Windsor Excite base variant:

- Electronic stability control
- Electronic parking brake
- LED projector headlamps
- Dual-function LED DRLs
- LED tail lamps
- LED rear fog lamps
- Power mirrors (no power folding)
- Keyless entry and go (no push-button required to start/stop)
- Auto approach lock/unlock
- Height-adjustable driver seat
- Auto AC w/ rear AC vents
- Reclining rear seatbacks
- Split-folding rear seatbacks
- 4x adjustable headrests
- Fabric upholstery
- Front armrest
- Tilt and telescopic steering
- All power windows
- Driver window 1-touch up down
- All windows 1-touch down
- Cruise control
- 3 drive modes
- 3 regen modes
- Boot lamp
- Flush door handles
- 17-inch steel wheels
