The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been testing in the country for quite some time now. Recently, the upcoming MPV has been spotted testing on the outskirts of Delhi again. Though, the automaker was supposed to launch the 2018 Ertiga at the Auto Expo this year but it didn’t happen but according to the reports the vehicle will be launched in India sometime in August 2018.
According to the recently spied images, the spied Ertiga can be seen wearing camouflage and hence covering up all the changes on the MPV. However, what still can be observed from the images is that the upcoming Ertiga will be taller and wider than the outgoing model that will ultimately result into a spacious cabin inside the car. The test mule also revealed bigger alloy wheels to be offered with the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
Talking about the expected changes, the front bumper of the car looks straighter making it significantly different than the previous model. The windscreen is now raked and there should now be more space for the luggage. Apart from these, the top spec models of the Ertiga might get projector headlamps and the tail lamps that are expected to be LEDs. Although, the cabin details of the new 2018 Maruti Ertiga are not available at the moment but it is definitely expected to get the same touchscreen infotainment system that supports both, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and is now offered on the new generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
In terms of powertrain, the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is expected to get the same 1.4-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine as before. However, we can also expect the engines to be retuned in order to improve its performance and more fuel efficient.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga was first launched in India in 2012 and it received a mid-life update three years back in 2015. When launched, the new Ertiga model will take on the likes of Mahindra U321 that is also set to be launched in India soon.
