The Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire has been the bestselling compact sedan in India and one of the top selling cars in the country for long. Even after its long market existence, its popularity and sales have not taken a backseat at all. However, it is time that this massively popular car gets a complete makeover, and the company is working on it. It is well known that Maruti Suzuki is working on the next generation models of both the sibling cars – Swift hatchback and Swift DZire compact sedan. While the global next generation Suzuki Swift hatch has been already caught testing quite a few times, the India-spec all new Swift DZire sedan has been spotted for the very first time. The upcoming all new Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire has been spied testing on the roads near the Indo-Japanese car major’s manufacturing facility in Manesar, Haryana.

The next generation models of both the Maruti Swift and DZire will be manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming production factory in Becharaji, Gujarat. The upcoming new facility will be fully owned by Maruti Suzuki’s Japanese parent company, Suzuki Corp. with an investment of around Rs. 2,500 crores.

The Swift hatch and Swift DZire compact sedan siblings have been two highly important sales generators for Maruti Suzuki and together, they garner sales of more than 30,000 units per month in the Indian car market. Despite the growing market competition and innumerable new models, the sales of the Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire never seem to get adversely affected. Nevertheless, the very capable DZire is now an aging car and its all new avatar will have all the right ammunition to fight ably with its latest feature-rich rivals.

The next generation Swift DZire compact sedan and its hatch sibling will be based on a new global car platform from Suzuki which will come with reinforced structure and toughened floor pan. Both the cars will flaunt new design language and also get fully revamped interiors that will be all improved and laden with new features. The Swift and DZire will come with a new dashboard design, sporty seat upholstery, hi-resolution MID, metal trim on instrument console with dual pods, and much more. Both the cars will also grow a bit in dimensions, which will translate in better interior space.

The upcoming next generation Swift and next generation DZire are naturally expected to give a good boost in the monthly sales of Maruti Suzuki, post they hit the Indian market. The launch of these two new-gen models will increase demands considerably which would require the company to increase its production capacity as well. This is all the truer, as the Indo-Japanese company is planning to launch many newer models such as the Ignis and Baleno RS pretty soon. The new upcoming Gujarat plant of the company will be taking care of this additional production capacity. This factory is scheduled to commence operations early next year starting with the Baleno followed by other models.

Both the all new Maruti Suzuki Swift and DZire models will launch in India in 2017.
