Czech automaker Skoda has launched a new top of the range trim for its flagship SUV model – the Kodiaq. Named as the Skoda Kodiaq Laurin and Klement (L&K) trim, this new top-end model of the Czech SUV has been launched in the Indian car market at an introductory price of Rs. 35.99 (ex-showroom, across India). The new Skoda Kodiaq L&K trim, being the top-end model, obviously comes with some added bells and whistles to mark it as more premium than the previous top trim - Style variant.
In terms of exterior styling, there are only few subtle changes, while the overall design remains unchanged. The most noteworthy cosmetic updates on the new Kodiaq Laurin and Klement model includes sporty the chrome trimmed exhaust pipe tips and roof rails. Skoda has introduced a new exterior paint option on this new trim model, namely - the Magnetic Brown, while the model also obviously flaunts the L & K badging on the front quarter panels of the vehicle to mark itself apart from the other regular variants of the premium SUV model.
The Skoda Kodiaq Laurin and Klement variant has been endowed with top-notch equipments, the most prominent of which is the 360 degree view cameras for parking. This system includes four cameras, one up front, one each on the wing mirrors and one at the rear. The automatic parking system which is found on other Skoda models, also comes to this trim now. Moreover, the Kodiaq L&K trim also boasts of the all new virtual cockpit, which was recently introduced on the sportier Kodiaq RS variant.
The Kodiaq L&K trim also comes with a premium piano black finish for its dashboard along with L and K lettering on the dashboard, infotainment system as well as on the seats. All the other premium features that are offered by the Style variant also gets carried over to this new top trim.
Under the hood, the new Skoda Kodiaq L&K variant remains unchanged. The premium 7-seater flagship SUV model gets powered by the same 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel motor, which is capable of churning out a max power output of 150 PS along with a top torque of 340 Nm. The oil burner has been paired with a refined 7 speed dual clutch transmission which transmits the generated power to all the 4 wheels of the SUV via the All Wheel Drive system.
The Skoda Kodiaq, being the flagship SUV model from the house of the Czech carmaker is high on style, luxurious features and great performance. The Kodiaq offers car-like driving dynamics, despite being a full-sized 7-seater SUV, a quality not found on its market rivals in India. Moreover, the Kodiaq’s exterior design also makes it a bit compact as compared to its competitors, making it a better city-friendly large SUV. The new Laurin and Klement trim with added new exterior and interior features and high-tech equipments make the Kodiaq a further premium SUV for the modern Indian SUV buyers who are looking for a highly luxurious SUV model, while not exactly investing in a luxury SUV.
