Toyota are set to launch the 2026 Hilux in India later this month. The new-generation Hilux brings a comprehensive design refresh and several feature upgrades. While the new Hilux retains its proved ladder-frame platform and diesel powertrain, buyers can expect a more premium cabin and several updated features.

The biggest visual changes are expected at the front. The new Hilux adopts Toyota's latest global design language with a wider stance and a more upright appearance.

2026 Hilux To Offer Premium Cabin And Bigger Screens
Inside, the 2026 Hilux has received a significantly redesigned dashboard with improved materials and a more modern layout. The biggest upgrade is the addition of dual 12.3-inch displays that serve as the digital driver's display and touchscreen infotainment system.

Mechanically, the India-spec Hilux is expected to continue with Toyota's 2.8L turbo diesel engine. Here are the specifications of the current Hilux for reference:
With the upcoming Hilux, Toyota could also introduce the 48V mild-hybrid version of this engine, similar to the Fortuner Neo Drive, to improve mileage, refinement and low-speed performance. However, the company is yet to confirm if the hybrid system will be offered in India from launch.
Globally, Toyota have also revealed a battery-electric Hilux, but it is unlikely to arrive in India anytime soon.
The current Hilux already offers a strong list of safety features. The updated model is expected to take things a step further.

We expect the 2026 Toyota Hilux to be priced from around Rs. 35 lakh (ex-showroom), with higher variants likely crossing Rs. 40 lakh.
