Toyota have launched the 2026 Hilux in India with updated styling, a redesigned interior and several new convenience and safety features. While the ladder-frame chassis and 2.8L diesel engine remain unchanged, the new Hilux receives meaningful upgrades inside and out - including the introduction of an all-new 4x2 drivetrain.

Toyota have announced the prices of the Hilux facelift. The starting price has increased by Rs. 3.47 lakh, ex-showroom as Toyota is not offering the base variant with a manual transmission anymore. Check out the variant-wise prices below:
The 2026 Hilux is available in 3 variants – GX 4x2 AT, GX 4x4 AT and VX 4x4 AT. Toyota are charging a premium of Rs. 69,000 for the updated top-spec 4x4 AT model.

Mechanically, the Hilux continues with Toyota's familiar 2.8L turbo diesel engine. The manual transmission is no longer offered but a new 4x2 drivetrain has been added to the lineup.

The Toyota Hilux will continue to rival the Isuzu Highlander and V-Cross, which remain its only direct competitor in the lifestyle pickup segment - priced between Rs. 21.05 lakh to Rs. 30.00 lakh, ex-showroom. The 4WD Hilux variants could also appeal to buyers considering similarly priced SUVs such as the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian and MG Gloster. However, the Hilux trades their third-row seating and enclosed luggage space for an open cargo bed and greater load-carrying versatility.
