D-Segment Cars November 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change
- SUVs and MPVs continue to rule the D-segment. There are only 3 sedans in the D-segment, and only 1 pick-up.
- In fact, the top 10 best selling D-segment cars are all SUVs or MPVs, with 4 out of the top 5 being SUVs.
- The Mahindra Scorpio (Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic), Kia Carens, Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar and Tata Harrier took the top 5 spots.
- The Toyota Innova Crysta was pushed out of the top 5 list in November and became the top loser in YoY comparison with 68% decline in dispatches. It was followed by C5 AirCross with a 60% drop in dispatches.
- In November YoY sales comparison, the Mahindra Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic combined were the top-gaining mass-market cars, posting a 91.54% growth in sales.
- The Skoda Superb showed a 54% YoY growth and Octavia witnessed a 46% YoY decline in dispatch numbers in the comparison analysis for November 2022.
- MG and Mahindra don’t provide separate sales figures for their 5-seater and 7-seater D-segment SUVs
D-Segment Cars November 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change
- In terms of MoM performance, the Scorpio sisters were the best-selling cars in the D-segment, but saw a decline of 13% in November over October
- Skoda Kodiaq was the top gainer in terms of MoM sales comparison with 151% increase in dispatches compared to October
- Toyota doubled the sales of the Camry hybrid sedan in November 2022, from 59 units in October to 118 units in November, making Camry the second best gaining car in the category in November MoM comparison analysis
- The Toyota Innova Crysta saw the biggest MoM decline (among mass-market cars) of 46% in November MoM comparison analysis
- Among the low-volume cars, the Mahindra Alturas G4 was the top loser, with a fall of 87%
- It was followed by the Toyota Hilux and Hyundai Tucson with 51% and 49% drop in dispatches, respectively
