Renault has launched the Kiger SUV at an introductory price of Rs 5.45 lakh (ex-showroom India). It is a sub-compact SUV that will take on the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, Ford EcoSport and the Mahindra XUV300. The Kiger is available in 4 variants: RXE, RXL, RXT and RXZ. Prices range from Rs 5.45 lakh lakh to Rs 9.72 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
*All variants of the Kiger are available with a dual-tone colour option at a premium of Rs 17,000 over the corresponding single tone variants.
The Renault Kiger is 3991mm long, 1750mm wide and 1605mm tall. It not the longest or the widest SUV in its class. The Kiger has a wheelbase of 2500mm. The wheelbase is the distance between the centre of the front and rear wheels. A longer wheelbase usually results in better legroom.
Like the Magnite, the Renault Kiger is also available with two petrol engines: a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol. Where the naturally aspirated petrol engine makes 72PS and 96Nm paired to a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT, the turbocharged engine makes 100PS and 160Nm paired to a 5-speed MT or a CVT. The turbo engine also comes with multiple driving modes: Normal, Eco and Sport.

The Kiger gets dual front airbags as standard but in the higher variants, it also gets side airbags taking the total number of available airbags to 4. Other safety features on offer include ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, hill start assist, electronic stability control and front parking sensors (optional).
