Renault India have launched the updated 2026 Kwid with a simplified 2-variant lineup and prices starting from Rs. 4.52 lakh. The biggest highlight of the update is the removal of the Authentic and Techno variants. The 2-variant range now comprises Evolution and Climber trims, making the hatchback easier to choose for first-time car buyers.
Renault have also introduced a new online purchase benefit that effectively reduces the price of the fully-loaded Climber manual variant to under Rs. 5 lakh.
2026 Renault Kwid Prices
Here’s a look at the new and old prices of the 2026 Kwid:
- Renault have discontinued the Authentic and Techno variants of the Kwid
- The 2026 Kwid normal petrol-manual base model is now Rs. 23,000 more expensive than before
- The 2026 Kwid normal petrol-AMT base model is now Rs. 10,000 cheaper than before
- Depending on the transmission option, the top Climber variant is now Rs. 27,300 to Rs. 32,100 cheaper than before
- As before, we expect Renault to charge a premium of Rs. 11,000 for the Climber dual-tone variants
- Renault are offering a retrofitted CNG kit with manual variants at an additional cost of Rs. 70,450
Renault are also offering a Rs. 15,000 online purchase benefit on the Climber variant. This brings the effective ex-showroom price of the Climber manual down to Rs. 5 lakh (ex-showroom).
What's New In The 2026 Renault Kwid?
The updates focus more on simplifying the ownership experience than introducing major mechanical changes.
Key changes include:
- New Renault diamond logo
- New dual-tone wheel covers
Apart from these subtle changes, the overall exterior design remains largely unchanged. The Kwid continues to offer its SUV-inspired styling with body cladding, high ground clearance and rugged-looking bumpers.
2026 Renault Kwid Features
Despite its affordable pricing, the Kwid continues to offer a decent feature list. Convenience features on offer include:
- 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Semi-digital instrument cluster
- Reverse parking camera
- Remote keyless entry
- Power windows
- Power steering
- USB and Bluetooth connectivity
- Dual-tone cabin
- Rotary gear selector (AMT variants)
The 2026 Kwid offers safety features such as:
- Dual front airbags in base variant
- 6 airbags in Climber variant
- ABS with EBD
- Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS)
- Seatbelt reminders
- Rear parking camera with guidelines
The 2026 Kwid continues to offer 184mm ground clearance and 279L boot space.
2026 Renault Kwid Powertrain Specifications
The updated Kwid continues with the same 1L normal petrol engine as before. It produces 68PS of power and 91Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). Renault have not revealed the specifications of the Kwid CNG variants.
The updated Kwid continues to compete against entry-level hatchbacks such as the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and Maruti Suzuki Celerio, while also serving as an affordable alternative to entry variants of larger hatchbacks such as the Tata Tiago and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
