However, the Cullinan is based on the highly specialized and advance aluminium platform which underpins the current generation Rolls-Royce Phantom flagship mega-luxury sedan.
As Rolls-Royce has a way of calling its vehicles by off-beat names in keeping with its bespoke character, the company does not refer to the Cullinan as an SUV or crossover, but call it an "all-terrain, high-sided vehicle” – which are essentially an SUV’s primary characteristics.
As can be easily ascertained, the Cullinan is a massive SUV with all the signature exterior styling elements including the colossal chrome grille to mark it unmistakably as a Rolls-Royce vehicle and exude the famed majestic appeal. The seats are also highly flexible and movable to offer the comfort to the occupant.
;Another one of the many super luxurious and interesting features of the Cullinan is the two mounted inside the boot that are electrically operated and can be deployed when the boot lid is open. These are meant for occasions such as a picnic, to offer a comfortable seating option.
At the Cullinan’s heart is the massive 6.75 litre V12 engine which generates 563 bhp of peak power and a hammering 850 Nm of top torque. Being an ‘all-terrain’ vehicle, the Cullinan comes braced with great off-road capabilities. The SUV’s off-road mode is called ‘Everywhere’ mode which offers track, gravel, wet grass, mud, sand or snow modes to suite various driving situations. It obviously gets a sophisticated all-wheel drive system and its electronic suspension system delivers torque as per the requirements of the various terrains.
