Skoda Auto have globally revealed the Epiq — its most affordable electric SUV — positioned below the Elroq and Enyaq. Set for production in 2026, the Epiq targets entry-level EV buyers with a compact 4.1m body and over 430km of claimed range.

The new EV is based on Volkswagen Group’s MEB+ platform and combines compact dimensions with practical packaging, usable range and a feature-rich cabin.
The new Skoda Epiq measures 4,171mm in length, 1,798mm in width and 1,581mm in height, making it smaller than the MG Windsor EV sold in India. Despite its compact footprint, Skoda claim the Epiq offers generous cabin and luggage space.

The Epiq adopts Skoda’s latest “Modern Solid” design language with a clean and upright SUV stance. At the front, it gets a glossy black closed-off grille flanked by slim T-sghaped LED DRLs and sleek headlmaps.
The overall design focuses heavily on aerodynamics. Skoda claim a drag coefficient of 0.275, aided by features such as active cooling shutters, aero-optimised alloy wheels, underbody panels and a roof spoiler.

Inside, the new Skoda SUV follows a minimalist layout but retains several physical controls for commonly used functions, which is something many buyers still prefer over fully touch-based systems.
The dashboard features a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system paired with a smaller 5-inch digital driver’s display. Skoda have also included haptic rotary controls and shortcut buttons for climate and media functions.

The interior uses recycled and animal-free materials, with Skoda claiming more than 34kg of recycled material usage throughout the cabin. Despite being a compact SUV, the Skoda Epiq offers a sizeable 475-litre boot along with a 25-litre front trunk for storing charging cables and smaller items.
Skoda have also continued their “Simply Clever” philosophy with practical touches such as:

The new Skoda EV will be offered globally with 2 battery options. The entry-level version uses a 37kWh LFP battery pack paired with a 133PS electric motor. This variant offers a claimed range of around 305km.
Higher variants get a larger 52kWh NMC battery paired with a more powerful 208PS motor. This setup delivers a claimed driving range of over 430km on a full charge. The Epiq supports DC fast charging speeds of up to 105kW, enabling a 10-80% charge in under 25 minutes. All variants also support 11kW AC charging.

The Epiq comes equipped with several active and passive safety features, including:

Higher variants additionally offer advanced parking assist and drive assist functions.
At the moment, Skoda Auto India have not confirmed plans to bring the Epiq to India. However, given the growing focus on electric mobility and the company’s broader EV ambitions, Skoda could consider bringing the Epiq here as a halo product via the CBU route. If launched here, the Epiq could slot below larger EVs such as the Mahindra XEV 9S and compact but higher priced electric SUVs such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV 6.
